We want to provide a reference platform for solving contemporary difficulties in all areas of health, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We aim to be a catalyst for innovation in health and wellness, encouraging multidisciplinary cooperation and the use of scientific knowledge to improve people's well-being and quality of life.

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Health Sciences & Well-Being adopts a continuous publication model, where articles are typeset and published in a single volume per year immediately after acceptance. Consequently, the call for papers remains open indefinitely. This approach ensures rigorous article selection and evaluation, leading to the publication of high-quality research.

Manuscript Submission

Submission Procedure: Authors should submit their submissions electronically via the journal's website. They must include all relevant information and ensure that their paper follows the precise formatting and style rules outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Statement of Originality: All manuscripts must be original and not under consideration for another publication.

Peer Review Policy

Review Process: We use a double-blind peer review method in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other in order to ensure neutrality. The review process analyzes the manuscript's originality, scientific validity, clarity, and relevance.

Reviewer Selection: Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and contributions in the field. Authors may suggest potential reviewers, but the final decision rests with the editor, who will also ensure that there are no conflicts of interest.

Open Access Policy

Licensing: We follow an open access policy, which provides quick and free access to all academic literature. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which allows for use, distribution, and reproduction in any form as long as the original work is correctly credited.

Publication Fees: JHSW is committed to open dissemination and universal access to scientific knowledge, and it provides its readers with free access to all published papers without the need for a subscription. Our strategy guarantees that relevant research findings are made available to a worldwide audience, therefore promoting scientific development and communal well-being.

To maintain the high quality of our magazine while also covering the costs involved with preserving the open access model, we charge a $50 Article Processing Charge (APC). However, for our inaugural volume, this fee will be waived. This fee is only applicable to authors whose works have been approved for publication.

Ethical Statement

We adhere to the ethical guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) to handle cases of publication misconduct. This includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, ghost authorship, and salami slicing (publishing multiple minor articles from a single study).

All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Health Sciences & Well-Being involving human subjects must conform to current regulations. Approval from the ethics committee (approval code) is required, and researchers must obtain informed consent from subjects for studies involving humans. Animal-based research must also be approved by an ethics committee.

JHSW has adopted many policies that are recognized internationally as the global ethical standard regarding the subject matter they address. The following list is a selection of the most important documents on ethics policies from the WMA:

Trial Registration: The abstract must include information regarding the clinical trial registration (unique identifier, URL).

Clinical studies in Phases I through IV that are submitted for publication must be registered in an acceptable public clinical trial registry at or before the initial patient enrollment.

Handling Ethical Violations: Any suspected misbehavior will be properly handled in an open and impartial manner. Violations may result in the article being retracted or the authors facing extra punishments.

Conflict of Interest Policy

Disclosure: All editorial participants are required to reveal any financial or personal relationships that may affect their work. This includes financing for research, relationships with institutions, consultancies, stock or patent ownership, and any other potential conflict of interest.

Management: The editor will examine disclosed conflicts of interest and determine how they will be handled during the review and publishing process.

AI Usage Policy

AI tools refer to any software, algorithms, or applications that utilize machine learning, natural language processing, or other forms of artificial intelligence to assist in the creation, editing, or review of academic content.

Use of AI

  • Authors must clearly disclose the use of any AI tools in the preparation of their manuscripts. This includes tools used for writing, data analysis, image creation, or any other aspect of manuscript preparation.
  • Authors remain fully responsible for the content of their submissions, including any errors or biases introduced by AI tools.
  • AI tools should be used in a manner that upholds the ethical standards of research and publication. This includes ensuring the originality of the work and avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication, and other forms of misconduct.

Retraction and Article Correction Policy

Criteria for Retraction: A paper may be withdrawn if there is evidence of scientific misconduct, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, substantial flaws that undermine the results, or duplicate publishing. The decision to withdraw is reached after thorough deliberation and, when feasible, a conversation with the authors.

Correction Process: If minor errors or information requiring updates are identified, a correction or erratum will be published. This ensures the integrity and accuracy of the academic record.

Archive and Digital Preservation

Aware of the importance of safeguarding the integrity and availability of research for future generations, we have implemented archiving and digital preservation strategies by adopting the CLOCKSS and LOCKSS systems.

Complaints and Appeals Management

We provide a transparent and accessible process for managing complaints and appeals related to editorial handling, publication decisions, or ethical issues. Stakeholders can submit their concerns to the Editor-in-Chief, who will ensure a fair and objective review of the situation, following COPE guidelines for conflict resolution.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our editorial operation. We strive to ensure that our editorial process and content reflect the diversity of the scientific community, without discrimination based on age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnic origin, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
